I have 25 years experience in psychiatry, and 38 years in health care related fields. Through this extensive education, training, experience, continuing education and self-study in physical, emotional, and spiritual well being and distress, I am able to work with a variety of people to improve the areas of their lives that they are most eager to improve.
I am able to offer comprehensive diagnosis and treatment. The importance of nutrition, exercise, self care, and natural methods of maintaining emotional health are included.
I work with my patients through collaborative evaluation of patterns that are helpful or that are not working for that person.
The most effective methods of psychotherapy are individualized for each person, including psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, relationship, and brief therapy. I am happy to offer Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy.
I can evaluate the usefulness for each individual of the growing options available in psychophamacology. Prescription of medication is a collaborative process involving education about the purpose, use, and alternatives, evaluation of the risks vs benefits, and exploration of the meaning for each individual.
